NPP Bans Self-Appointed Communicators In Ashanti

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has announced a new rule prohibiting self-appointed communicators from representing the party on radio and television in the Ashanti Region. This directive, effective immediately, aims to improve the party’s communication strategy and secure victory in the 2028 elections.

The rule was communicated to radio and television hosts, producers, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence. Chairman Appiah emphasized that past instances of self-appointed communicators speaking without proper knowledge resulted in the party’s inability to defend its position on media platforms. He expressed confidence in the 2028 election, stating that the party is determined to seize political power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

Chief Appiah, who goes by the nickname ‘COKA’, highlighted that effective communication, particularly on radio and television, is crucial to the NPP’s success. The party’s communications director, Dr. Keskine Owusu Poku, is tasked with monitoring individuals who speak on behalf of the party. Complying with this directive, radio and television stations are requested to seek approval from the Director of Communications before allowing someone to speak on their network as an NPP representative.

Chairman Appiah urged media professionals to collaborate with the party to maintain a consistent message and avoid the “politics of insults” in the media. He stressed that wisdom is the key to winning elections, not insults, and has strongly discouraged NPP communicators from engaging in such behavior.
