Mbah Vows to Expand Youth Skills Development Programme in Enugu

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has pledged to broaden the scope of his administration's youth skills development programme. Mbah emphasized that investing in young people is crucial for reducing poverty and enhancing productivity. The governor's commitment was evident during a visit to a six-week digital training initiative organized by his Special Assistant on Youth Development, Charles Edeh, in collaboration with CUTECH Group.

Mbah highlighted that the programme aims to equip young individuals with practical and digital competencies to secure better opportunities. "Youth development is a direct investment in the future of Enugu State," he stated, pledging to expand the programme to more participants.

Earlier, Edeh announced that the initiative would be part of a broader youth development framework reaching across the state's 17 local government areas. He stressed that youth development is an investment, not an expense, and that the programme is just one step in a larger vision to ensure untapped talent is nurtured, regardless of a young person's background or access to opportunities. "Every young person in Enugu deserves a chance to dream, a chance to learn, and a chance to succeed," Edeh affirmed.

Collins Onu, the Managing Director of CUTECH Group, revealed that the programme received over 1,500 applications but selected only 200 due to capacity constraints. Onu also noted that the initiative is part of CUTECH Group's corporate social responsibility efforts to provide young people with essential skills and knowledge for their future.
