Burlington, Vermont, came in third on the list, with its standout factor being job opportunity. The metro area's job postings have surpassed February 2020 levels, suggesting a strong job market. However, childcare and housing costs were among its weakest metrics.

Washington, DC, ranked 10th on the list, with strong performance in career mobility and dynamism, indicating that job seekers can easily switch jobs. However, opportunities have been below their February 2020 levels. The metro area was ranked 25th for average commute time, 2nd for transportation costs, and 9th for walkability.

Other notable cities on the list include San Francisco, which ranked 5th, and New York, which ranked 6th. These cities performed well in various categories, such as job opportunity, compensation, and work-life balance. The ranking emphasizes that individual preferences and career stages play a significant role in determining the best city for work.
