Apple has refreshed its popular desktop computers, the Mac Mini and Mac Studio, by equipping them with more powerful chips. The refreshed models are expected to be better suited for such AI purposes with the new chips from Apple's M-series.

More performance, higher prices The Mac Mini, which was previously offered with M4 and M4 Pro chips, is upgraded to M6 and M5 Pro. Even with the M6 chip, the Mac Mini is supposed to deliver up to four times faster AI performance compared to its predecessor. The memory chips can process data twice as fast according to Apple. The starting price for the Mac mini increases from the previous 949 to 1,049 Euros.

Apple, like other hardware manufacturers, struggles with the fact that memory chips have sharply increased in price due to high demand for AI data centers. In recent months, there have been supply shortages for some devices of the company due to difficult chip availability.
