India news Live Updates, 25 August 2026: NIA searches five states in cyber terrorism case, accused attacked government websites during Op Sindoor

The National Investigation Agency has searched five locations in five states - Junnar in Pune (Maharashtra), Nadiad in Kheda (Gujarat), Ramagundam in Karimnagar (Telangana), Gopalganj in Bihar and Delhi - as part of the Cyber Terrorism Gujarat Case. Alleged cyber terrorists targeted 54 websites of Government of India entities during Operation Sindoor, attempting sophisticated distributed denial of service attacks against critical computer infrastructure.

The goal was to undermine national sovereignty and cause public fear. Two accused have been arrested so far. Incriminating material related to hacking activities was seized, including laptops, mobile phones, pen drives and other digital devices. The case was initially registered by the ATS, Gujarat, and ongoing investigation is continuing.
