Imran Khan says he was ‘miserable’ after receiving his biggest fee: ‘Won’t do it for double money’

Veteran actor Imran Khan is gearing up for his acting comeback after a decade-long break from the industry. Renowned for his early success with romantic comedies such as Jaane Tu. Ya Jaane Na (2008), Imran experienced a decline in his career around 2015 due to a series of box office flops. In a recent interview with Brut, the actor revealed that despite receiving his highest fee for an unnamed film, he endured the most miserable experience of his life during its production.

Imran emphasized the importance of balancing financial gain with personal well-being, stating that he has now set boundaries for himself and will not accept roles solely for monetary reasons. He firmly declared, "Even if the price is double, or three times the money, I still won't do that." Imran's return to the limelight comes with his Netflix project, Adhure Hum Adhure Tum, directed by Danish Aslam and starring Gurfateh Pirzada.

The film is currently in post-production and slated for release on the OTT platform later this year. In 2024, Imran discussed his decision to step away from films, noting that his 20s were spent building his career, while his 30s saw him grapple with larger life questions and ultimately lead to a hiatus from the industry.
