Grealish back for Man City - but for how long?

Jack Grealish has returned to Manchester City for the start of the new season, though his future at the club remains uncertain. The 30-year-old English winger is in the final year of his reported £300,000-a-week contract at the Etihad Stadium and was loaned out to Everton during Pep Guardiola's final season in charge. That loan spell was cut short due to an Achilles tendon injury, but Grealish has since returned to full fitness and featured in both of City's games thus far.

He made cameo appearances in the Community Shield against Arsenal and Bournemouth's Premier League opener, displaying good spirits and gratitude towards City fans on social media. Although he has been given a chance to prove himself under new manager Enzo Maresca, no assurances are being given that Grealish will stay at City until the transfer deadline on September 1st.

Maresca recognizes Grealish's potential and is committed to coaching him, though other options, including a loan move or a permanent departure, are not being ruled out. So far, no concrete offers for Grealish have come in this summer, and Everton remains interested in the player. Despite his attachment to the blue shirts, City sources state that he is ultimately a City player, and the club and fans have embraced him during his return.
