Ghislaine Maxwell's bid to overturn conviction rejected

In a 67-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer has dismissed Ghislaine Maxwell's efforts to overturn her conviction. The judge deemed her arguments, including those based on recently released Epstein files, to be "frivolous." The opinion asserts that the evidence against Maxwell is "overwhelming" and that new evidence actually worked against her rather than in her favor.

Maxwell's claims are described as "meritless and all or almost all frivolous." Judge Engelmayer notes that the majority of her arguments were either "procedurally barred" due to having been previously argued and lost on direct appeal or were never raised in the appeals process. The alleged "new" evidence, primarily the materials released under the [Epstein Files Transparency Act], is deemed largely irrelevant and does not support Maxwell's assertions of error.

Conversely, it is suggested that this new evidence, if relevant, only serves to incriminate Maxwell or confirm the accuracy of the legal decisions she is challenging.
