Fair Wages pays tribute to late CLOGSAG Executive Secretary Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, FWSC, mourns the loss of Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo, the Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG). He departed from this world on Friday, August 21, 2026. FWSC spokesperson Dr George Smith-Graham expressed profound shock at the news, as Dr Addo had been actively engaged in stakeholder discussions only a week prior.

The Commission lauded Dr Addo's vibrant personality, his passion, articulate communication, intellectual engagement, and unwavering commitment to public servants and Ghana's public institutions during those meetings. They emphasized that Dr Addo was more than just an Executive Secretary; he was a prominent figure in Ghana's labor relations landscape and a staunch advocate for fair wages and worker welfare.

FWSC noted that despite their sometimes opposing roles in negotiations, there was always mutual respect and a shared belief that social dialogue should serve the interests of all stakeholders. The Commission extended heartfelt condolences to Dr Addo's family, CLOGSAG, Organized Labour, his colleagues, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to know and collaborate with him.

They affirmed that Dr Addo's invaluable contributions during his final engagement with FWSC will forever be part of their ongoing national discourse on public-sector compensation and the establishment of the Independent Public Emoluments Commission (IPEC).
