Garmin’s new Fenix 9 adds brighter screens and smoother map panning

2. Screen improvements: Both the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro feature a 43mm AMOLED display with 416 x 416 px resolution. The Fenix 9 Pro has more map storage and expanded RAM, which Garmin claims will make the map navigation on the watch more fluid and responsive, with panning being 30% faster.

3. New activity features: The Fenix 9 series introduces stamina zones and stamina curves, which track how endurance levels change over time. The rucking features have been expanded to support pack changes and enable specific target metrics. Additionally, the Fenix 9 watches can now directly read data from selected indoor rowing machines, providing more detailed fitness insights.

4. LiveTrack and location tracking enhancements: The Fenix 9 Pro's LTE version has improved LiveTrack features, allowing for real-time location sharing, route sharing, and associated stats through the Garmin Messenger app. A new feature called Garmin Locate offers a one-time share option, enabling users to share their location with contacts when needed.
