Fabinho relishing Liverpool reunion with Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor

Brazilian midfielder Fabinho is excited about the prospect of playing alongside his former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah in Turkey. The 32-year-old Fabinho is set to complete a free transfer to Trabzonspor this week, reuniting with Salah who joined the Black Sea club in the summer following nine years at Anfield.

Fabinho, who spent three years in Saudi Arabia with Al Ittihad, is a free agent after a stellar five-year stint at Liverpool between 2018 and 2023. During that time, he won multiple domestic titles, including a clean sweep of domestic honors and the UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup.

"I played with Salah again and it is a very special feeling. Besides being a great player, he is also a great person," Fabinho told beIN Sports. "We played together for five years. Despite everything we achieved, he still works hard to be the best and gives everything he has for the team."

Salah made a surprise move to Trabzon in recent months, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over İstanbul Basaksehir. His standout performance against Basaksehir included notching a brace while two goals were ruled out. Salah started his first league game after appearing as a substitute in Trabzonspor's season opener. He put his side ahead in the eighth minute after Basaksehir goalkeeper Muhammed Sengezer failed to hold on to the ball.

Trabzonspor overcame a 1-0 deficit when they travel to Budapest for a crucial second leg against Ferencvaros on Thursday night.
