Delhi-Gurugram weather LIVE: IMD issues red alert for heavy rain in next 2-3 hours

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rain in the Delhi-NCR region, warning that intense rainfall is expected over the next 2-3 hours. The Met Department predicts moderate rain in many areas and heavy rain in isolated locations, with thunderstorms and lightning likely to occur in most parts of Central, East, New Delhi, North East, North West, Shahdara, South, South East, South West, and West.

Meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya explained that nearly 70% of the national capital could experience moderate rainfall between morning and afternoon on Tuesday, while isolated areas may face heavier downpours. The Gurugram administration has advised corporate offices to permit employees to work from home and instructed government and private schools to offer online classes due to the anticipated heavy rainfall, waterlogging, and traffic congestion.
