Nigeria's envoy to India, Saidu Muhammad, has presented his Letters of Credence to President Droupadi Murmu, vowing to enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two nations. The ceremony occurred at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, with the President receiving credentials from ambassadors of South Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria and Moldova.

Muhammad conveyed President Bola Tinubu's best wishes and pledged to build upon the strong bilateral relations between Nigeria and India, with a focus on strengthening the economic, trade and investment ties. He reaffirmed Nigeria's importance placed on the relationship, describing his appointment as both a privilege and responsibility.

The relationship extends beyond political and diplomatic engagement to encompass substantial economic, commercial, cultural, educational and people-to-people ties. Muhammad also expressed his determination to attract more Indian investment to Nigeria, promote business-to-business engagement and facilitate opportunities for Nigerian enterprises to access the Indian market.

Indian President Murmu welcomed the High Commissioner and emphasized the long-standing ties founded on historical bonds, mutual respect and shared interests, highlighting the potential for further expansion of trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two nations.
