Vuelta third stage abandoned after hailstorm in Pyrenees

On Monday, the third stage of the Vuelta a Espana was called off due to an unexpected hailstorm in the French Pyrenees. The 174-kilometer race, which had 15 kilometers left from Gruissan to Font-Romeu, was abruptly halted when hailstones began falling heavily on the cyclists. Race leader Tadej Pogacar signaled to the main group to discontinue the ride, and riders quickly sought shelter in a hotel. The Spanish cycling event's organizers subsequently declared the stage would not be resumed.
