VIDEO: Tears as Nollywood legend Ogogo laid to rest

On Monday, tears streamed down faces as the remains of beloved Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, affectionately known as Ogogo, were escorted to his eternal home. A somber ambiance filled the venue during the burial, as relatives, friends, colleagues, and sympathizers gathered in Ilaro, Ogogo's hometown, to pay their final respects to the 66-year-old artist.

A video captured the funeral procession, showcasing mourners carrying Ogogo's remains as they made their way to the burial site, following Islamic rites. Among the mourners was Ogogo's close friend and colleague, Yinka Quadri, who was seen weeping uncontrollably as his peers tried to console him. The emotional scene underscored the profound grief felt by Ogogo's colleagues and loved ones as they bid farewell to the beloved actor.

Notable Nollywood personalities, including Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Mr Latin, and Toyosi Adesanya, had already arrived in Ilaro to attend the burial. Other attendees included Ireti Osayemi, Bisi Omo Logbalogba, and additional family members and well-wishers. Actor Bola Oyin-Adejobi offered a touching tribute to Ogogo in an interview with journalists prior to the burial, praying for the deceased to reach Al-Jannah Firdaus (Paradise).

Ogogo, a trailblazer in the industry, paved the way for countless others, while actress Toyosi Adesanya opened doors for new talents and wished a happy birthday to the departed star.
