Prince Harry steps down from African wildlife charity board

Prince Harry has resigned from the board of African Parks, an African wildlife charity where he served as president for six years before joining its board of directors in 2023. The decision comes after an independent investigation found that rangers in Congo-Brazzaville had committed human rights abuses against indigenous people.

Despite stepping down from the board, Prince Harry remains a supporter of the charity's mission. African Parks manages around 20 national parks and protected areas across 12 countries and has since improved its safeguarding processes following the investigation. The charity praised Prince Harry for his contributions to conservation efforts, particularly his involvement in the 500 Elephants project, which involved relocating elephants from Malawi to help increase their numbers in areas affected by poaching.

The Sussexes are set to return to the UK this month, where they will enroll their children in a British school, raising questions about their security arrangements and future plans.
