Webb, who had pitched for the Twins' AA affiliate, the Wichita Wind Surge, had a disappointing season in 2026 with an ERA of 6.90 over 44 innings pitched in both AA Wichita and AAA Worcester. Signed by the Twins as a free agent in mid-June, Webb had spent his entire professional baseball career with the Boston Red Sox.
