Melaka election countdown? Perikatan hints at polls within two months

AYER KEROH, Aug 24 — The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition has hinted at a short timeframe for the upcoming Melaka state election, potentially occurring within a two-month window. PN Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar cautioned that the 60-day period should not be perceived as a lengthy interval but rather as a crucial countdown to decide the state's future government.

During a PAS Melaka fundraiser, Samsuri, who also holds a position as PAS vice-president, emphasized that the coalition is fully prepared to assume governance in Melaka, irrespective of prevailing political dynamics. He reiterated PN's commitment to participate in the administration to safeguard the interests of all communities, advocating for equitable treatment and representation.

Samsuri stressed that fairness in governance is essential for maintaining peace and prosperity in Melaka, asserting that a PN or PN-influenced administration would exemplify harmony and serve as a model for the state.
