L&T wins ultra-mega ₹15,000 cr Mideast gas project

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) recently secured a monumental contract valued at over ₹15,000 crore to construct gas compression facilities and associated infrastructure for a client in the Middle East. This unprecedented deal, awarded in the fiscal year 2026, includes the development of gas inlet facilities, compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems, and other utilities.

L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) will undertake the project through an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) approach.

The facilities will be built to support new onshore installations designed to process sour gas. L&T's shares were trading at ₹4100.00 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) as of 9:55 AM on Monday. Besides the compression systems, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will handle the construction of two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations to meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants.

In the hydrocarbon sector, L&T's LTEH Onshore division is one of the company's largest EPC businesses, handling projects in upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. The firm has a track record of executing refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, fertiliser plants, LNG terminals, and cross-country pipelines globally. This latest project showcases L&T's expertise in delivering integrated solutions for complex sour gas applications, building upon their strong hydrocarbon EPC capabilities.
