Suspected bandits have abducted a traditional ruler, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, the Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land, in Igbesi community within Oke-Onigbin town in Kwara State. According to the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Adekimi Ojo, armed bandits invaded the community on Saturday night at about 11 p.m.

The Daily Post Nigeria reports that a search and rescue mission has been launched by a combined team of soldiers, police, local vigilantes, hunters, and members of Sunday Igboho’s Iru-Ekun group to rescue the monarch. The police commissioner stated that efforts are underway to rescue the victim.
