Kashmiri Pandit staff rattled by fresh terror threats

Jammu: Recent terror threats have left Kashmiri Pandit government employees feeling uneasy, following the circulation of posters on social media, which allegedly contain their personal details, such as names, residential addresses, and vehicle information. The posters, purportedly issued by a group calling itself the United Liberation Council (ULC), have fueled fear among employees and their families.

A letter addressed to the chief secretary of the government, signed by the All PM Package Employees Forum Kashmir, expressed concern over these threats. Sunny Raina, a Kashmiri migrant employee recruited under the Prime Minister's Special Package, highlighted the heightened apprehension among employees and their families. He stressed on the need for enhanced security and an investigation into the alleged leak of sensitive information.

Raina appealed to the administration to allow work from home as a precautionary measure and requested adequate security outside their residences and workplaces. He also appealed to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to send a delegation to the Valley to understand the concerns of Kashmiri Pandit employees working there. The forum stressed that repeated circulation of such threat letters and posters containing sensitive personal information is a matter of grave concern and urged for immediate and thorough verification for identification of those responsible.
