JAMB allows candidates to verify O’Level results from home

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has launched a new system enabling prospective students to verify their O'Level results from the comfort of their homes for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This innovative platform initially extends to results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), eliminating the need for candidates to frequently visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for finalizing the process.

Upon obtaining a verification code, candidates can utilize JAMB's e-Facility platform to authenticate their results. Subsequently, JAMB validates these outcomes directly with the respective examination body before finalizing the updates to the candidate's profile. To access this service, applicants must furnish their National Identification Number (NIN) and, upon receiving the code, make any necessary payments.

An alternative method involves SMS, where candidates can type "VERIFY" followed by the verification code and send it to either 55019 or 66019. JAMB asserts that this technologically-driven system has been implemented to enhance speed, security, and convenience, particularly during periods of high demand. This initiative is also projected to alleviate long queues at CBT centres, minimize errors stemming from manual data entry, and mitigate issues arising from network failures at these centres.

JAMB anticipates broadening the direct verification system to encompass results from other examination boards as well.
