After Indiana’s Wolf Run Golf Course closed in 2017, plans to build 560 homes and 100,000 square feet of retail and office space stalled. Jim and Nancy Carpenter bought the 215-acre property for $5.5 million in 2021. They helped transform the former golf course into Carpenter Nature Preserve, now Boone County’s largest nature preserve.
