Five labourers killed as gunmen attack road construction site in Balochistan's Pishin

Five laborers lost their lives and another sustained critical injuries on Monday when armed assailants unleashed a barrage of gunfire upon a road construction site in Saranan Sulemanzai, a district within Pishin, Balochistan. The attackers specifically targeted the laborers and heavy machinery engaged in a dual-road project. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti delivered a somber response to the heinous act, expressing profound sorrow for the loss of innocent lives and offering his deepest condolences to the affected families.

CM Bugti declared that such attacks would not be tolerated and would not be allowed to impede the province's peace. Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Political Affairs, Shahid Rind, echoed this sentiment, vehemently condemning the incident as a stark demonstration of the terrorists' ruthless brutality. Rind emphasized that the victims were diligently contributing to the province's development, and any assault on individuals engaged in honest work constituted a grave affront to humanity.

He vowed that the perpetrators would not succeed in their nefarious objectives, vowing that state institutions and the public would stand resolute against terrorism. The latest ambush came shortly after an incident a few days prior, in which armed terrorists stormed the Saranan police station and detonated explosives, resulting in the building's destruction.

The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) assumed responsibility for the earlier attack. In response to Monday's tragedy, authorities have initiated a security operation in the region to apprehend those responsible for the senseless violence.
