‘Don’t cry, my princess,’ Ogogo told daughter weeks before death

Renowned Nollywood actor, Amokade Olatayo, widely recognized as Ijebu, has extended a public apology following the untimely death of fellow actor Taiwo Hassan, affectionately known as Ogogo. Ijebu made the heartfelt request for forgiveness in an Instagram video posted on Monday, expressing a sense of heaviness within his heart.

In the video, Ijebu acknowledged the weight of life, stating, "Good morning, everyone. My heart is so heavy this morning. I have been awake since 6 a.m. My heart is so heavy." He went on to emphasize the transient nature of life, remarking, "We came to this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing. We don't have any reason to be fighting ourselves. Life is too short."

Soliciting absolution from everyone he may have potentially wronged, Ijebu specifically extended his apology to his family, colleagues within the film industry, and those outside of it, saying, "If there's anyone that I have offended in one way or the other, please forgive me. My boss, my workers, the younger ones behind me and my colleagues in the movie industry, I want to use this medium to beg you all for forgiveness. I'm a sinner; please forgive me."

Despite the gravity of his words, Ijebu expressed a desire to bring peace, stating, "I'm making this video to make peace with everyone in order to reduce the burden on my heart." He concluded by affirming that he had already forgiven those who may have offended him, concluding with a poignant reminder, "We don't have any reason to be fighting ourselves."
