Dan Orlovsky suggests fan boycott of Browns games over Deshaun Watson decision

ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, after Cleveland Browns' recent decision to name Deshaun Watson as the starter, suggested fans should boycott their games. Orlovsky, appearing on First Take, admitted that he was torn between Watson and Shedeur Sanders as the best quarterback choice. However, Watson's defensive attitude and lack of self-awareness during a press conference following the decision pushed Orlovsky to call it a "tipping point" for the franchise.

The former NFL quarterback and ESPN commentator stated, "I'm being dead serious when I say this, Browns fans should not go to games." Orlovsky explained that Watson's comments, such as "I get more love in road games," revealed an entitlement that disgusted fans who had already faced numerous accusations of sexual misconduct from Watson.

Despite Watson's history of misconduct and underperformance, the Browns traded three first-round picks for him in 2022 and offered him the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history. Orlovsky called Watson "tone-deaf" and expressed shock at the fan base's apparent preference for Sanders. Despite these criticisms, Orlovsky acknowledged that Browns fans had already endured significant hardships with Watson's contract and injuries, and did not expect them to completely abandon the team.
