Cancer can mimic ulcers, Aproko Doctor warns following Ogogo’s passing

Nigerian health educator Aproko Doctor has cautioned against mistaking cancer symptoms for common ailments like ulcers. Responding to questions about actor Taiwo Hassan, also known as Ogogo, who was diagnosed with stage-four cancer despite appearing healthy, Doctor emphasized that even a healthy appearance doesn't guarantee internal health.

He explained that some cancers, particularly stomach cancer, can present symptoms similar to ulcers, but an ulcer itself doesn't automatically become cancer. Doctor stressed the importance of paying attention to persistent stomach pain, unexplained weight loss, repeated vomiting, loss of appetite, difficulty swallowing, and rapid fullness.

He urged people to seek professional evaluation instead of merely switching medications. While clarifying that most stomach pain isn't cancer, Doctor reminded Nigerians not to panic when experiencing discomfort, emphasizing the need for proper investigation when symptoms persist.
