Brydon Carse Ruled Out Of England Vs Pakistan 2nd Test As Cricket Regulator Investigates Derby Nightclub Incident

England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the second Test against Pakistan due to an incident at a Derby nightclub on Saturday night. The Cricket Regulator has launched an investigation into the events that unfolded outside the club. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that Carse will be replaced by Sonny Baker for the match.

This follows previous incidents involving Carse and other England players, including an altercation in July 2026 and a drunken encounter with Ben Stokes in October 2025. The ECB referred the matter to the Cricket Regulator after videos surfaced on social media showing Carse being detained by police outside the nightclub, although he was not arrested or charged.

Carse was released by England after being dropped for the first Test against Pakistan at Headingley. He was due to return to the squad ahead of the second Test at Lord's, but the ECB has now confirmed his absence while the investigation is ongoing. The second Test between England and Pakistan is set to begin at Lord's on Thursday, August 27, with England leading the series 1-0 after a convincing victory in the opening Test.
