49ers owner Jed York pleads no contest to two misdemeanor charges in Ohio

San Francisco 49ers team owner Jed York, 46, was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, over the weekend and pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. York was released after posting a $5,000 bond and was sentenced to one day in jail, to be served concurrently with the other charge.

He also had $1,150 in fines imposed. Initially charged with engaging in prostitution, the charges were amended to disorderly conduct. York received a cellphone back and $160 from the seizure was to go to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The 49ers and NFL have not commented on the matter. York has been the principal owner of the 49ers since 2024, taking over day-to-day control from his parents in 2008.

Under his leadership, the team has made three Super Bowl appearances, losing in 2012, and 2019 and 2023 under coaches Jim Harbaugh, Kyle Shanahan, and John Lynch. York also oversaw the construction of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the team moved to in 2014.
