Zelenskyy details rift with dismissed defense minister, saying some of his actions were misguided

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy openly criticized dismissed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, asserting that certain actions undertaken by the latter were misguided. During his first public explanation of the rift, Zelenskyy elaborated on Fedorov's involvement in mass protests and advocacy for elections, which he deemed as problematic decisions.

In addition to discussing the dispute, Zelenskyy addressed other contentious matters related to defense spending. He also pointed out that inaccurate information provided by the Defense Ministry had contributed to an awkward encounter with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the utilization of Starlink in Russia.

Zelenskyy shed light on the growing shortage of Patriot air-defense missiles in Ukraine, which are essential for countering Russian ballistic attacks. The figures revealed that despite Western allies' continued deliveries in the past, the supplies have been dwindling over the past three years as Russian missile strikes have intensified.

On the positive front, Zelenskyy highlighted the significant battlefield gains made by Ukrainian forces. According to him, the Ukrainian military has almost entirely recaptured the Dnipropetrovsk region, with only around 10 square kilometers still under Russian control.
