‘Who would apply medicine to child’s blisters?’: Delhi techie killed by in-laws; wife, 3 held

On Friday morning, the body of 69-year-old retired school teacher Preeti Kumari was discovered by her daughter inside her Jangpura home in Southeast Delhi. The deceased had been brutally killed, with her hands tied and her face severely injured. Her residence, located around 100 meters from a police booth, was located on the ground floor of Pant Nagar.

The assailant entered her home unannounced in the early hours of the morning, between 3 am and 4 am, and stole a significant amount of gold jewelry as well as a phone. Police have identified the accused as an experienced burglar who frequents high-end hotels. A mask, a T-shirt, and capri pants were worn by the suspect during the heist.

There were no signs of forced entry, and all other houses on the ground floor had been locked tightly from the outside. Police suspect the attacker knew Preeti's daily routine, which included distributing tea to homeless individuals and volunteering at a community dispensary. The investigation revealed that the suspect had patiently waited for Preeti to open the door before entering the property.

No forced entry was made, and the remaining houses on the ground floor were discovered locked from the outside. Three suspects were taken into custody for further questioning, including a carpenter who had repaired the house a few days prior and a man who had washed a car nearby.
