‘We can’t keep counting bodies’ – Obi tackles Tinubu govt over Benue, Plateau, Niger attacks

Presidential candidate Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed deep concern over recent attacks in Benue, Plateau, and Niger states, warning that Nigeria cannot continue to witness such violence. In a statement on Sunday, Obi highlighted the numerous casualties and destruction caused by these incidents, urging the government to take decisive action.

The attacks have reportedly left dozens dead, while others have been abducted, and thousands of homes have been destroyed across the three North-Central states. Obi called for strengthened intelligence gathering, enhanced rapid response capabilities, and the protection of vulnerable communities. He emphasized that the attacks should be treated as a national security challenge rather than isolated incidents, and urged all levels of government to take urgent measures to safeguard lives and property.
