Tella, Ejuke score stunners in big victories

In Saturday's matches, Nigerian football stars Nathan Tella and Chidera Ejuke scored sensational goals to help their clubs secure big wins. Tella, who came off the bench for Bayer Leverkusen, opened his season account with a stunning goal in the DFB Pokal quarter-final against Wehen Wiesbaden. The winger was introduced in the 65th minute and found the net just four minutes later, extending Leverkusen's lead to 3-0.

Christian Kofane sealed the victory with a goal just ten minutes after Tella's initial strike. Leverkusen will now focus on the Bundesliga, where they face Elversberg on August 29.

In Spain, Ejuke made a triumphant return to Sevilla, scoring a breathtaking chip goal over Athletic Club in their LaLiga match. The 28-year-old winger was nearly released by the club just days earlier due to wage negotiations, but a dispute with Real Zaragoza prompted Sevilla to reinstate him. Sebastian Israelsen put Sevilla ahead four minutes after halftime, with Ejuke doubling the lead shortly after.

Aitor Paredes scored a consolation goal for Athletic Club, but it was a mere consolation as Sevilla moved top of the table with a perfect six points from their opening two matches.
