Teen girl fled motorcyclist after he allegedly told her to undress, Kelantan police now investigating possible sexual assault

On August 20, a 15-year-old girl was found unconscious by the roadside in Machang, Kelantan, Malaysia. According to Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, she had fled from home and accepted a ride from an unidentified motorcyclist. The man allegedly told the girl to undress, which frightened her and caused her to flee. However, she later became unconscious by the roadside and was discovered by passersby who took her to the hospital for an examination.

Police have opened an investigation into the possible sexual offence under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, despite the initial finding that there was no evidence of rape. Mohd Yusoff stated that the medical examination did not find any evidence of rape, but there is concern that an attempted sexual offence may have occurred.

The Machang district police chief, Superintendent Azuhar Md Nor, denied earlier claims that the girl was dumped or abandoned by someone along Jalan Kemuning, stating that she had left home without her family's permission and accepted a ride from the motorcyclist, who then left her by the roadside.
