Sogard’s solo homer starts Red Sox rally in 5-4 win over Giants

Boston Red Sox clinch a 5-4 victory over San Francisco Giants, thanks to Nick Sogard's solo home run and Jake Bennett's stellar pitching. The Giants led early, with Jonah Cox's solo homer in the second inning, but Sogard answered with a 3-2 fastball from Matt Wilkinson 415 feet over the Green Monster. Connor Wong tied the game with an RBI double, and Mickey Gasper added another run with a double.

The Red Sox took the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Rafaela reached on a throwing error, bringing Rafaela to the plate for an insurance run. Jake Bennett kept the Red Sox ahead with six strikeouts in seven innings, allowing only four runs (three earned) on seven hits and walking one. Aroldis Chapman secured the win with his 29th save. The Red Sox ended their homestand with a 5-1 record and are 7-3 since a five-game winning streak.
