Sogard's solo homer starts Red Sox rally in 5-4 win over Giants

On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox secured a 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants, concluding a three-game sweep of the team. Nick Sogard contributed to the win with his second career home run, which was hit off Matt Wilkinson, a pitcher making his first appearance for the Red Sox. The Giants had taken an early 3-0 lead, thanks to Jonah Cox's solo homer in the second inning.

However, the Red Sox fought back with a series of hits and strategic plays. Ceddanne Rafaela drove in a run in the third inning, and Connor Wong tied the game with an RBI double. Mickey Gasper opened the scoring for the Red Sox with a double of his own, setting the stage for Rafaela's crucial single. Jake Bennett's pitching performance was also noteworthy, as he struck out six batters in seven innings despite allowing four runs (all earned).

The Giants managed to bring the game to a one-run deficit after Christian Koss hit a home run, aided by an error by Andruw Monasterio, which allowed him to score from third base.
