LASU probes missing results, extra-year controversy

The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has launched an investigation into allegations involving lecturers who allegedly failed to upload students' results, a situation that reportedly led to delayed graduations and the threat of extra years for some students. The controversy erupted following social media reports that over 100 students missed their last convocation because a lecturer allegedly did not upload their results since their third-year studies.

Some affected students may now be faced with an additional year at the university due to the alleged failure to upload their results, not because they failed their courses. The issue gained traction when an X user, @TheAjakeManger, alleged that the problem impacted more students beyond the initial reports and accused a Head of Department of threatening those affected.

Further claims suggested that over 1,000 students in the 200, 300, and 400 levels of the department are experiencing academic problems. Despite the claims, the LASU management acknowledged the complaint, promised to look into the matter, and assured students that the issue would be addressed next week.
