Anwar: ALC‑27 boosts Malaysia‑Brunei strategic cooperation and bilateral goodwill

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim highlighted the strategic significance of the 27th Malaysia-Brunei Annual Leaders' Consultation (ALC-27) in a Facebook post, stating that it has successfully bolstered the deep-rooted brotherhood and strategic partnership between the two nations. He reiterated that this special relationship would continue to flourish, contributing to the prosperity and well-being of the citizens from both countries.

Anwar also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei for the welcoming gesture extended to him, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and the entire Malaysian delegation. In a gesture of goodwill, the Prime Minister prayed for the continued wise rule of the Sultan of Brunei. He also extended thanks to the Sarawak and Sabah state governments, various ministries and agencies, the Malaysian High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan, and the media for their crucial roles in ensuring the successful execution of the visit.

Prior to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on disaster management cooperation, Anwar met with the Sultan at Istana Nurul Iman in a face-to-face session. Anwar initiated a two-day working visit to Bandar Seri Begawan following his arrival the previous day.
