Wanita maut dihempap tiang besi tumbang dirempuh kereta

A woman died after being struck by a steel beam that fell due to a car accident in a food court area in Bandar Mahkota Cheras early this morning. Police Chief Naazron Abdul Yusof stated that around 1:15 AM, a 35-year-old local male driver entered the food court's eating area after the driver was believed to be impaired. He then tried to exit his car from the food court area before the 47-year-old victim allegedly ran towards the car to prevent or stop it.

"When the driver swerved his car to exit from the food court area, his car had hit a steel beam, causing it to fall and strike the victim's head, resulting in her death at the scene," he said in a statement today. Naazron said the injured driver was taken to the hospital for treatment before being detained to assist with the investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He said the examination of the injured male found no prior records. Anyone with information related to the incident has been asked to contact Inspector Mohd Raziman Rasid at 019-4565502 or the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
