PRN Sarawak ‘sangat dekat’, kata pemimpin PBB

PBB Women's Party Zone Central Head Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali has stated that the PRN Sarawak election will be held in the near future, urging party members to intensify readiness. She emphasized that the election might take place within the next month or at any moment, but not too far away. The women should always be prepared and vigilant, she added.

Hasidah urged party branches to review the election procedure, including guidelines on permissible and prohibited actions throughout the campaign period. The party leaders were also reminded to obtain the latest voter list and investigate the gender distribution and other demographic details of voters in each region, without waiting for the election to be scheduled.

"We need to know the number of voters in each zone, the gender ratio, and other demographic specifics," she stated. This information would facilitate planning of voter management and strategies to mobilize women.

Hasidah's remarks came after Borneo Post reported that Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Chairman of the Sarawak Party Alliance (GPS), had earlier indicated that the PRN was likely to be held before the end of the year, leaving a campaign window of less than 100 days. However, Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg remains tight-lipped about the exact date of the election. The Sarawak legislative assembly term is set to end in February, barring an earlier dissolution.
