PRN Sarawak ‘sangat dekat’, kata pemimpin PBB

A prominent Women's Party of the Bersatu-People's Justice Party (PBB) leader has stated that the Sarawak state-level general election (PRN) will be held in the near future, urging party members to intensify their preparations. Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, the Central Zone Women's Party head, said the polls may be held within a month or anytime soon, but not too far away. As a result, we must be ready. We must always be prepared, she added, according to Borneo Post.

She urged women's party branches nationwide to review the electoral procedures, including guidelines on permissible and prohibited actions during the campaign period. Furthermore, party leaders were reminded to obtain the latest voter lists and investigate the demographic breakdown of voters in each region without waiting for the election to be scheduled.

This statement followed the leak of an early PRN announcement by Sarawak Chief Secretary of the People's Justice Party (GPS) Dr Sim Kui Hian two months ago, which indicated that the polls were expected to take place before the end of this year, leaving only about 100 days for the current term. However, Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg remains silent on the exact date of the election. The Sarawak state legislative assembly term is set to end in February, pending its early dissolution.
