Multiple blasts, arson attacks hit southern Thailand; Narathiwat enforces curfew

Last night, a series of bomb blasts and arson attacks occurred simultaneously in multiple locations throughout southern Thailand's Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces. The coordinated strikes occurred around 8:15 PM and targeted public infrastructure and commercial premises using explosive devices, burning tires, and setting vehicles on fire. Narathiwat was reportedly the most affected area, followed by Yala and Pattani.

In response to the coordinated acts of violence, Thai security forces have increased their security measures and blocked off the affected areas to conduct sweeps and investigations. Narathiwat authorities ordered the temporary closure of certain zones, including Sungai Kolok and Tak Bai, and imposed strict entry and exit restrictions.

The Narathiwat government also declared a curfew until 6 AM the following morning in response to the attacks. The extent of the damage and information regarding casualties are still being confirmed by official sources as security agencies continue their investigations to determine the responsible party.
