Thai army urges vigilance after multiple attacks in southern Thailand

Bangkok, Aug 23 - Thailand's Fourth Army Region has urged citizens to remain alert following a series of violent incidents across its southern border provinces, according to Xinhua. These incidents, including arson, explosions, and the burning of car tires, began around 8 pm local time yesterday and have continued into the present day.

The attacks targeted administrative buildings, vehicles, power poles, and convenience stores. At least 11 separate incidents took place in Narathiwat Province, while a car explosion resulted in two casualties. The Narathiwat Task Force confirmed via a Facebook post that the entire province would be placed under a curfew from 10.15 pm yesterday until 6 am today.

Residents are instructed to seek permission from military, police, or administrative authorities before leaving their homes for urgent matters.
