CMC Managing Director launches 24-hour operating model

The Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) has inaugurated a 24-hour operational model to streamline cocoa movement across Ghana's logistics and export chain, aligning with President John Dramani Mahama's 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme. The new framework, unveiled by CMC Managing Director Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, comprises Offload 24, Load 24, and Export 24, and aims to keep critical cocoa operations active beyond regular working hours.

The launch involved stakeholders from government, COCOBOD, Licensed Buying Companies, cocoa processors, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, shipping lines, hauliers, international buyers, Quality Control Company, and other industry participants. Wisdom Dogbey highlighted that the initiative addresses inefficiencies in cocoa logistics, such as trucks waiting at Take-Over Centers and documentation delays, by extending operations beyond traditional hours.

The three pillars will facilitate timely cocoa offloading, efficient supply to processors, and smooth export processes in sync with shipping schedules.
