CMC Managing Director launches 24-hour operating model

The Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) Ghana has introduced a novel 24-hour operational model aimed at enhancing the flow of cocoa within Ghana's logistics and export value chain. This significant move aligns with President John Dramani Mahama's 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme. The new framework, unveiled by CMC's Managing Director, Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, comprises three interconnected pillars: Offload 24, Load 24, and Export 24.

These commitments were endorsed by a range of stakeholders, including government officials, COCOBOD, Licensed Buying Companies, cocoa processors, and various logistics partners. The initiative aims to break away from traditional working hours, ensuring that critical operations within CMC's cocoa logistics chain remain active throughout the day and night.

By extending operations beyond conventional hours, CMC seeks to alleviate congestion at its facilities, optimize processing capacity, and streamline export processes in synchronization with shipping schedules. This strategic shift is seen as a substantial contribution to Ghana's broader economic goals, demonstrating how a modernized cocoa logistics system can drive the country's 24-Hour Economy vision.
