Who Does Sarah Paulson Play in 'Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story'?

Sarah Paulson plays the character of Aileen Wuornos in Netflix's upcoming horror anthology series Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. Wuornos, a real-life woman, is known for being considered the first female serial killer, having been convicted of six murders between 1989 and 1990. She later died by lethal injection on October 9, 2002.

The inclusion of Wuornos in the series aims to explore themes of female rage and reaction to the circumstances presented to them, as explained by actress Ella Beatty. Wuornos' role is described as a crucial part of the show's thematic focus, highlighting the question of whether women are born or made to be violent. Other key cast members include Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Billie Lourd, and Jessica Barden.
