Gandhari, the upcoming action-thriller starring Taapsee Pannu, is set to make its digital debut on Netflix on September 3, 2026. Directed by Devashish Makhija, the film is based on the story of a mother named Bani, who embarks on a perilous mission to save her daughter in the fictitious town of Joypurra. Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, the movie promises intense action sequences and explores the emotional bond between mother and daughter.
The film marks one of Taapsee Pannu's most physically demanding roles yet, showcasing her dedication to the character. Pannu's co-star Ishwak Singh, among others, forms an acclaimed ensemble cast. Kanika Dhillon, the film's writer and producer, emphasized the story's focus on unwavering belief, quiet resilience, and unflinching courage.
"We wanted to tell the story of a woman who refuses to be defined by her circumstances," Dhillon stated, praising Taapsee Pannu's commitment to the role. The collaboration with Devashish Makhija and an exceptional cast, Dhillon added, made the journey particularly fulfilling, and the partnership with Netflix provided the platform to bring this story to life on the scale it deserves.
