Foreign Ministers of Qatar and seven Arab and Islamic countries condemn Israel’s continued illegal settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territory and reaffirm their rejection of the “E1” settlement plan

On March 4, the Foreign Ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt strongly denounced Israel's ongoing illegal settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory. They vehemently rejected the "E1" settlement plan and all related developments east of East Jerusalem. These ministers emphasized that such actions not only violate international law and UN resolutions but also pose a significant threat to regional and global peace and stability.

They warned that the "E1" plan represents a dangerous escalation of settlement expansion and annexation, threatening the contiguous nature of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and thus jeopardizing the prospects for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The ministers highlighted that these actions directly contravene the international community's efforts towards peace, including President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan, which unequivocally rejects annexation and forced displacement.

They reaffirmed that the two-state solution, in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions, is the only feasible path to a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace. The ministers stressed that any attempts to undermine this solution could exacerbate tensions, jeopardize regional and international peace, and undermine the prospects for lasting peace and stability in the region.

They supported all measures to hold accountable those responsible for illegal settlement activities, including those involved in the "E1" plan, as well as those who facilitate or implement settlement expansion and annexation policies. The ministers called for an immediate halt to the "E1" settlement plan, the withdrawal of all associated measures, and an end to all settlement activities that alter the demographic and geographical composition of the occupied Palestinian territory.

They urged the United Nations Security Council, all states, and international actors to fulfill their obligations under international law, halt settlement expansion, and protect the Palestinian people, secure their inalienable rights, including self-determination, and facilitate the realization of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
