Japanese Delegation Arrives In Kashi, Set To Give New Direction To Investment And Industrial Cooperation

A high-level Japanese delegation of 109 members, led by the Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, is set to arrive in the spiritual city of Kashi on August 22 for a two-day visit. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen industrial cooperation and invest in Uttar Pradesh, while also showcasing India's rich culture and heritage to the Japanese delegation. The delegation will explore opportunities in sectors like hydrogen and clean energy, semiconductors, electronics, automobiles, tourism, and human resource development.

During their visit, the Japanese delegation will witness the world-famous Ganga Aarti at Namo Ghat, explore the centuries-old spiritual, cultural, and handicraft traditions of Kashi, and pay a visit to the Sarnath site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. The delegation will also be introduced to Indian culture through art, handicrafts, and culinary experiences.

To introduce Japanese guests to Kashi's handicraft traditions, stalls featuring One District One Product (ODOP) and Geographical Indication (GI) products will be set up. These products include Kashi's renowned Gulabi Meenakari, soft stone carving, wooden lacquerware, and toys, as well as Banarasi silk sarees and other local handicrafts. Cultural performances showcasing Indian classical music and dance will further highlight the rich cultural traditions of India and Kashi.

The Japanese delegation's visit aims not only to promote investment and industrial cooperation but also to add a new cultural dimension to the enduring relationship between India and Japan. Through this visit, Uttar Pradesh hopes to move towards its goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy by strengthening law and order, improving infrastructure, fostering investor-friendly industrial policies, ensuring ease of doing business, and creating a single-window system for transactions.
