Israeli military intensifies airstrikes on southern Lebanon

Israeli forces escalated airstrikes and artillery shelling in southern Lebanon on Monday, with drones flying low over Beirut's southern suburbs, according to Lebanese media. The conflict erupted after Lebanon and Israel signed a framework agreement on June 26 to facilitate Israel's withdrawal from occupied territories in exchange for deploying the Lebanese army and disarming armed groups, including Hezbollah.

Despite the accord, Israel has maintained its offensive in Lebanon since March 2, resulting in over 4,000 deaths and around 12,000 wounded, as reported by officials. Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosions, targeting areas in the districts of Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, Nabatieh, and Tyre. Israeli forces also attacked the outskirts of Barashit, hitting a house, and detonated a house in the Jallahiya area of Khiam.

In the Nabatieh district, Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of Mifdoun, while a large explosion occurred between the towns of Arnoun and Kfartibnit.
